John Carroll’s Honors Program seeks out women and men who experience joy from taking intellectual risks -- students eager to step outside their academic comfort zone and wrestle with topics and activities that challenge their assumptions. We are not necessarily seeking students with the highest GPA. Rather, we are looking for students who go all in with the academic experience at John Carroll -- Accountancy majors who are eager to take courses in Theology and Religious Studies, Biology majors who love History courses, and so on. Honors classes are not more difficult than conventional courses, but they are focused on active participation, unconventional methods, diverse sources of information and opinion, and bold inquiry. There are also some tangible benefits you can find out about at https://jcu.edu/academics/beyond-classroom/mission-based.
